ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS:
In a world which is becoming increasingly aware of the need for environmental protection for the future of the Planet and the survival of its inhabitants, this Wing has been focusing on such global issues by educating through awareness raising campaigns in India and overseas. The unique flavour of these campaigns is the emphasis on the inextricable connection between the mental pollution of the BEINGS and the physical pollution of the World.
To educate the masses, four "All India Environmental Awareness Campaigns" were organized during Sept-Oct. 1990, covering different parts of 13 states of India by traveling about 19,000 kms. Details of the groups are as under:
1st Environmental Awareness Campaign - Bhopal to Secunderabad
2nd Environmental Awareness Campaign - Bhopal to Calcutta
3rd Environmental Awareness Campaign - Chandigarh to Jaipur
4th Environmental Awareness Campaign - Bombay to Pune.
An `Indo Nepal Environmental Awareness Campaign' from Kathmandu (Nepal) to Lucknow (U.P) was organised in Sept-Oct. 1992. In recognition of the services done by SEW in the field of Environmental Awareness, Mr. Arjun Singh, the then HRD minister, Govt. of India, awarded "PARYAVARAN SHREE 1992" award to Bro. Mohan Singhal National Coordinator of the Wing.
SEMINARS & WORKSHOPS:
Over one hundred Seminars & Workshops have been organized across the length and breadth of India by SEW to narrow the gap between Science & Spirituality so that both can play complementary roles. Today the coming together of these two powers is no longer a matter of choice; it is the imperative need of our times. Some of the topics covered in these seminars and workshops are Science Human values and Code of Ethics, Enhancing creativity in Indian Research Institutes. Value based Science & technology, enhancing productivity and efficiency in Industries, change in atmosphere through attitudes, human needs vs. eco-friendly solution, industrial peace and many other such topics.
Bangalore 1988:
Saw the 1st International Conference of Scientists, Technologists and Spiritualists for a Better World held in Bangalore. At this occasion an "All India Paper Writing Competition" was also organized for Science students in which more than 100 papers were received. Prizes were awarded to the winning papers. This initiative proved highly successful and gave birth to further Conference and the International Science Symposia in Germany, Greece and Mexico, where eminent Scientists gathered to investigate relationship between Science and Consciousness.

Mount Abu 1989:
In 1st week of October, 1989 an International Conference of World class Scientists & Engineers was organized at Om Shanti Bhavan. A large number of Scientists, Engineers and Ecologists were benefited through this unique program.

Athens 1990:
A four day International symposium on Science, Technology and the Environment attended by 52 eminent Scientists from twenty two countries, gathered in Athens to initiate, articulate and find ways to implement a new perspective of science and technology in the services of the World. Outcomes were a call for an in-depth study to understand the interrelatedness of all aspects of life-spirit, mind, body, society and the biosphere and the development of a new global vision to fulfill the needs of the whole.

Mexico 1994:
Mexico hosted the 1994 International Symposium in Uxmal, Yucatan and was organized by the Universidad Autonoma Metro-politana, Unidad Xochimilco and was co-organised by the Athenian Society for Science and Human Development and the Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. This symposium focused on harnessing a clearer vision of the values which underpin the process of transformation and examine practical methods which enable those values to emerge within the scientists as a human being.

Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, 1999:
A Conference on "Value-oriented Science & Eco-friendly Technology for 21st Century" was organized on 4th & 5th Dec. 1999 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The Conference was supported by the Ministries of Science & Technology, Environment & Forest, Non-conventional energy sources, Tourism & Power. It has also the support of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The Conference was inaugurated by Mr. K.C. Pant, Dy Chairman, Planning Commission, Govt. of India. The Chief Guest was Mr. B.S. Rawat, Minister of State for S & T. The valedictory address was delivered by Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, principle Scientific Advisor to Govt. of India. Former President of India, Mr. R. Venkataraman also addressed the valedictory session. The Conference had plenary session on "Exploring the Inner space" and "Spiritual Empowerment & attitudinal change". There was a panel discussion on "Necessity of Values & Spirituality in Science and Technology".
There were six Technical Seminars on the following topics :
01. Food & Nutrition safety for 21st Century.
02. Bio-technology and ethical issues.
03. Missing dimensions in Research & Development
04. Non-conventional Energy - Untapped Resources.
05. Environment pollution - the human factor.
06. The Science of Silence.
More than one thousand Scientists & Technologists attended the Conference.

Conference on SAVE THE PLANET, Sept 2000:
An all India Conference on Save the Planet was organized at Shantivan, Talhati from 9-12 Sept. 2000. This Conference was organized keeping in view the "Culture of Peace" year and as per the 5th point in the Manifesto 2000 - "Preserve the Planet". The Conference was inaugurated by Mrs. Jakia Iman, Minister for S & T, Govt. of Rajasthan. The Conference had three plenary sessions and ten technical seminars on different topics. A resolution was adopted in the valedictory session by all the participants. The conference was also addressed by Mr. B.S. Rawat, Union Minister of State fsorn S & T, Govt. of India and Mr. Bhagraj Chaudhary, Minister of Enviromnent, Govt. of Rajasthan.

Patiala, 2000:
A one day Conference on "Science & Engineering for Holistic Development" was organized on 29th Oct. 2000 at Patiala which was inaugurate by Mr. Prakash Singh Badal, Chief Minister of Punjab. The Conference had two technical streams - Human Re-engineering for the Holistic Development and "Environmental Management - a unique approach".

BHILAI, 2000:
A one day Conference on "Cherished Values & Organisational Growth" was organized in collaboration with SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant on 9th Dec. 2000. In the conference, there were three Technical workshops - "Sustainable development", "Relevance of ancient ethos in modern Management" and "Science & Engineering for holistic development". In addition, there were two panel discussions - "Enhancing Efficiency & Productivity in organisations", and "Managing Personal Change for meeting Challenges",. About 800 Scientists & Engineers attended the conference.

Mt. Abu, 2001:
A conference on "Consciousness, Science & Spirituality" was organised at Gyan Sarovar, from 30th Sept. to 3rd Oct. 2001 which was inaugurated by Mr. Bachi Singh Rawat, Minister, Minister of state for Science & Tech., Govt. of India, New Delhi. Mr. Narottam bhai Patel, Minister for water supply, Capital project & Urban Housing, Govt. of Guj. was the chief guest. The conference had 3 plenary sessions in addition to Inaugural & Valedictory session, 3 panel discussions, 4 technical streams, apart from 4 Meditation sessions.

Delhi, 2002:
A National Retreat on "In Pursuit towards holistic excellence through lifestyle change in the field of Science & Technology" was conducted at ORC for the Scientists & Engineers from 4th to 6th Oct. 2002, in which more than 200 delegates participated.

Mt. Abu, 2003:
A national dialogue on ‘Journey towards a Glorious India’ was organised at rom 18th to 22nd July 2003, in which about 250 delegates participated. The dialogue was inaugurated by Mr. Kaushik bhai Patel, Revenue minister, Govt. of Gujarat. Group discussion, 4 plenary sessions, 4 meditation sessions and Inaugural & Valedictory session.

Delhi dialogue 2003:
A dialogue-cum-retreat on "Life Management Skills" was organised from 12th to 14th Sept. 2003 at ORC. Topics like Mind Mgt., Harmony in Relationship, Healthy & Happy life style, Joy at work place, Overcoming anger & depression, Stress Mgt., Enhancing Inner powers etc. were taken apart from 3 meditation sessions. About 250 delegates participated.

Disaster Management Campaign
The campaign on disaster awareness and its management was launched in Gujarat covering major industries, organized jointly sponsored by Guj safety council and SEW. The campaign featured conducting seminars, demonstrations, pictorial exhibition depicting holistic dimensions of disaster management etc.
